Beta Team

  • A multidisciplinary group that assesses and responds to reports of students with concerning behaviors
  • Students, Staff, and Parents can report and there is an option to do so anonymously
  • You may choose to not leave the name of the student that you are concerned about, and instead leave your contact information and the BETA team will contact you with resources that they believe will be beneficial
  • Every situation is different, you may or may not hear what steps they are taking depending on confidentiality

Learning Assistance Service

  • For improvement in learning (reading, writing, time management, etc.), offers individual counseling, workshops, self-help programs and credit courses, special programs for non-traditional age students and school students preparing for college, open M-F 8:30-4:30

Psychotherapy Clinic

  • Low-cost counseling center for non-umd adults, staffed by advanced doctoral students, supervised by licensed clinical psychologists, fees are flexible (range from $25-50),

  • Provide therapy for UMD students ($10) and open to community ($15), clinical psychology doctoral students supervised by licensed clinical psychologists, prices are negotiable, provide testing services ($750), do have waitlist
