The Learning Assistance Service offered by the ADS office has individualized programs in: Exam Skills, Spelling, Time Management, Textbook Comprehension, Listening and Note-taking, Math Learning Skills, Vocabulary, Science Learning skills, Writing/Grammar Skills, and Speed Reading. They offer individual counseling, workshops, self-help programs and credit courses, and special programs for non-traditional age students and school students preparing for college.

Maryland Psychotherapy Clinic and Research Lab

MPCRL provides high-quality, low-cost counseling and psychotherapy to people over 18 in the Prince George’s, Montgomery County, and Washington, D.C. area. Their treatment focuses on insight and understanding difficulties in relationship problems, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, meaning in life, dreams, and nightmares.

The Counseling Center

The Counseling Service in the Counseling Center is the primary campus provider of free and confidential therapy to help UMD students manage personal, social, and academic challenges. Staffed primarily by licensed psychologists, the Counseling Service also conducts campus outreach presentations, provides emergency response services, and assists with referrals to off-campus mental health providers. Consultation with a therapist about students of concern is available to University faculty, staff, and parents on the Counseling Service warmline. They offer:
